1789 Mott Token Thick Plain Edge PCGS AU58+
An altogether pleasing Mott token in every capacity. The deep brown surfaces are glossy throughout, with luster remaining and minimal contact marks in the fields. The die state is typical for one of these tokens, with the peripheral legends weak and drawn to the rims, as well as a large cud at upper corner of the regulator (clock). While these are dated 1789, they were most certainly struck in the early 19th century, possibly to commemorate a 50 year anniversary.
