1803 Draped Bust Large Cent, Small Date, Small Fraction PCGS AU50 CAC

A well struck and smooth chocolate brown example. Hints of golden-brown throughout accentuate the eye appeal of this early Large Cent. Peripheral luster and a minor amount of wear contribute to the grade. The obverse and reverse are free of major distractions. The difficulty of finding early Draped Bust Large Cents should not be understated, as a siginificant percentage of these have environmental issues or other damage. CAC approved for quality.

This is the S-246, R.3 variety. A die chip below the jaw and clash marks through the denominator (all as made) combine to attribute the variety.
