One of the most popular Type 1 Double Eagles thanks to the S.S. Central America. This coin is sharply struck with booming luster. A trace of wear is all that keeps it assigned to this grade. The eye appeal is very strong, and the surfaces are very pleasing. The variety, Bold Low S, is a good bit tougher than the common 20A Spiked Shield, although there isn't much of a premium in price. A coin that checks all the boxes.
